It had been so long since I read the first four books that I re-read the entire series before continuing with this 5th book. Nick Web's email says that book 6 is almost ready. I was hoping it would be out before I finished book 5, but it is not out yet. I thought there would be enough time for book 6 to be published before I finished, but it is such a good story line, often with unexpected twists and turns, that I couldn't stop reading. If you like a good Sci-Fi saga that is true to science and logic, and with a rich and exciting story, I recommend the Last War Series. I caution that you may want to wait for book 6 to come out before starting.

As usual, Bostrom writes a fun and fast paced book. I thoroughly enjoy this series and expect Mattis to save the day in future episodes as well as in the future against Spectre.
Crisp action and dialogue. Strong character development. Wonderful plot. A great read and series...QUICK! Where is number 6? Cant wait for more!!!!
What can I say. This is a great story. I loved the characters and the story line was great. I excited about book 6. Can hardly wait.
What did I like about this book? Super story, excellent action and one of my favorite characters, Admiral/Captain Jack Mattis. He’s out to stop Specter from taking over the universe any way he can.What did I not like about this book? I got to the end way too fast. I read last night until I couldn’t keep my eyes open then picked it back up this morning, even propping it on the treadmill while I exercised and then it was done and back to waiting for the next one. As Mork would have said, “Shazbat!â€
This series is so amazing, and it's still on the up. So full of action and amazing discoverys. Hard to put down. And that big bang at the end! Left me breathless. Really had to remember that breathing is important, too. But now, we ( our Admiral and his bunch, and myself as avid follower of the events) finally will get our hands on the big guns by the next book. I can hardly wait for the next book. Which will blow our minds for sure. And, thank the author so much for keeping Guano in the play, I just love her so much.
Do not pick up this book if you have plans for the next few hours . This story line is like a black hole, once you get close there is no escaping. The characters are very real and I felt grief on losing any of them . Peter has done an incredible job with this series and I heartily recommend that you read this book when you get a chance.
