I loved everything about this one, I simply did not want to ut it down.The cover was a perfect depiction of Reece, a swoon worthy man who would make any woman melt. Reece, Brent and Jenna have been an inseparable trio since childhood, best friends who made a pact to be there for each other, always. Both Reece and Jenna are now experiencing a change in their feelings toward each other. Will these changes bring them closer together or will they tear their friendship apart? How will this affect their relationship with Brent?In amongst tryng to sort out emotions and relationships, the trio have banded together with the owner of their favourite bar, The fix, to try and save it. Jenna comes up with the idea of a calendar full of luscious, healthy and virile men. Will her idea be accepted or will the boys knock it down without listening to her? Will Reece and Breant agree to join the calendar competition?A wonderful read, full of fun and a few tears. What a start to J Kenner's new series!Reece, Jenna, and Brent have been inseparable since they were kids. Then 8 months ago Reece realizes that his feelings for Jenna have changed and he no longer sees her just as their best friend. This happens the night before Jenna leaves Austin for LA, and now Jenna is back in Austin home for good and Reece realizes his feelings are stronger than ever. Now the bar that Brent and Reece work at could be shut down before the end of the year and the three best friends need to work together to help and try and save it and the feelings Reece has may not be as one-sided as he thinks.Jenna has come home and needs to find a job ASAP - the good thing is that she is back with her best friends and she knows things will be ok. That is if she can keep her feelings towards Reece under control. She was not expecting to have her feelings change so suddenly 8 months ago but she knows she can't risk their feelings on a fling, and that's all it could ever be, or can it be more?I love the idea that each book in this 12 book series be a different genre and book one is the classic friends of lovers scenario. The story is fast-paced and can easily be read in one sitting. That being said if I had 1 issue is that it does feel a tad rushed especially towards the end. The relationship between Reece and Jenna does feel authentic and I love that Brent is the voice of reason for them. We also get to meet quite a few secondary characters and I can't wait to see how their stories will unfold.
"Down On Me" is my first book by a new to my Author. Thankfully it was free! At first, I was so excited to see where the Author would take this book. Maybe, something new and exciting. NO! Just the same old, same old. I've read lots of books with this same exact plot and outcome. Middle ways through the book I knew what was going to happen. So predictable. So boring.(Spoilers) What really made me angry is when Jenna demanded Reece marry her just because she was pregnant. When he didn't agree, she left him. What year are they living in? The dark ages. Ridiculous! She knew how Reece felt about marriage from being his best friend for years and growning up along side him. A very tacky move on her part and frankly it made me despise her. Reece could of done so much better.

Welcome to the Man of the Month series.An excellent introduction to the series, the scene is set for the "Man of the Month" calendar fundraiser that will be happening throughout each of the twelve books. It also was a wonderful romance of best friends-to-lovers when Reece and Jenna finally took the risk of stepping outside their comfort zones and into each others arms.The secondary characters introduced here had depth and definitely left me eager to see how each of their stories plays out in future novels. Well-written, well-paced and an enjoyable read!
Friends to lovers but will it ever be anything more?Jenna and Reece are part of a trio of best friends and also just happen to be secretly in love with each other. As well as them not wanting to take the next step, fearing their friendship will suffer, they both have their own past which eventually throws a wrench into the works.Jenna grew up with a single mother, always wanting to have the perfect family of both mother and father. Reece grew up with a father who has had several failed marriages and therefore doesn’t believe in marriage. To top it off, not only must they try save their relationship, but also the bar that they decided to invest in.An enjoyable romantic read with a HEA and no cheating. Slight cliff hanger at end to get a person curious about next book and couple.
Thought this was rather slow moving with no direction into the story . Much time was spent with all the conquests Reece had. Brent, Reece, nd Jenna had a three best friends going on, But secretly Jenna and Reece felt something for each other butdenied it thinking it would hurt their friendship. Reece was not the marrying kind and would not marry Jenna even after she told him she was pregnant. They had been lovers for only a few weeks. Jenna wanted a commitment but Reece did not.
I like where JK is going here,but i feel that her writing quality may get lost in the rush. That's what this book felt like...rushed. I only got a glimpse of the heart of the characters. Time was lost our gained at times, and there were a ton of characters introduced on the side. I'm vested in the series, I just hope the character quality increases as the year goes by.
