About the Author
Heather Alexander has written numerous books for children and young adults including previous titles in this series, A Child's Introduction to the World and A Child's Introduction to Greek Mythology. She is a former children's book editor and lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.Meredith Hamilton graduated from Brown University and has an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. I could rate this two different ways.My very bright , smart and curious 6 YO LOVES the book.That being said... it is clearly not written for her age. A lot of chopped up information with no clear way to read & digest information.Bottom line: It could it have better organized. But all that aside my daughter is happy so maybe that's all that counts.
This is one of the best books I have seen for children about the Greek myths. I teach third graders and can't wait to share this book with them. The illustrations are very appealing and the detail given about each story is wonderful.
We purchased this book for our 8-year-old. He loves the illustrations and the stories. This book even comes with stickers, tattoos, and a family chart. He loved all the extra goodies. We'll be introducing this book to our 6 and 4-year-old as well. : )
Ordered so many books about Greek Mythology and this was by far the best.So well written and easily digestible for a group of 6-7 year olds.Also loved that it included a poster/family tree, stickers, and tattoos. So masterfully done.

Bought as a gift for an acquaintance's bright young daughter. Prose a little advanced for her, but a great book for a parent to read aloud to their child so that the wonder of the myth worlds explored can be made clear. Interesting and pleasing illustrations. Does not talk down to its readers.
I bought this for my nephew a little over a year ago (then 8) to introduce him to Greek mythology, and he's since read everything he can find on the subject. This is a great and fun way to introduce kids to Greek mythology :)
I bought this book for my seven year old grandson and he loved it! There is plenty of information for the older student, but there are also stories that hold everyone's attention! Aside from the content, it is a beautiful book, hard cover with sturdy pages. It is a great book to pick up and read anytime, a fact book for many of the gods and a story book!
